A long time ago there lived a boy in the city of Venice in Italy. His name was Carlo. He was a poor boy. Carlo was a good son. He always helped his father on the canals with his gondola. One day when Carlo sitting by the canal in front of his house, he saw a fine gondola came up the canal. Carlo saw a boy in it. The boy himself wore a blue silk shirt and blue trousers. At the moment, the blue boy saw Carlo in his poor clothes. He saw a patches on Carlo’s shirt. The blue boy stood up and began to laugh. But suddenly, the blue boy had fallen out of gondola into the water.
At once Carlo helped the blue boy. The boy’s turn to look ashamed. “I’m sorry,” he told Carlo. Carlo’s mother clean the boy up and gave him a hot drink. And the boy said , “My father will reward you for your kindness.” Next day the boy came with his father and gave Carlo new clothes, and the best of all there was a new gondola for his father. “The fall has taught a lesson. I hope he will never laugh at anyone again.
